WHEW! I have been a scrapping fool this last week getting caught up because I knew all the book printing sites were going to be having their 65% off sales. They usually do it every year around black Friday and that is when I plan on ordering mine each year. So I think the books will always begin around thanksgiving from the previous year to that years Thanksgiving. Which I am cool with. (Hello! 65% off people!!) Anyways, I have pretty much put up each page that I have done here on the blog as I do them. So here are the last ones. The book ended up being about 100 pages! Do you now see why I wait for the sale each year!?Anyways...Enjoy! Let me know which ones are your favorite. I am my own worst critic. :)

Boys movie night

So one of Elvin's best buds is Jefferson. They are so adorable together and we are going to be so sad to have to move away. I think his mom and dad need to get a job where ever we end up cause these two have too much fun together, not to mention what great friends we have become with the parents. Well they had a movie night last week and Elvin got to pick out the movie from red box and we had told him it was just for him and Jefferson. He picked out some superhero cartoon one. He was looking forward to it all day and was so excited. Well, we got them all set up in Elvin's room, popcorn popped, drinks ready... then started the movie for them. They actually watched the whole thing! And they had so much fun. I kept peeking in there and they were just so adorable to see. I cannot believe how big he is getting. I need to remember to treasure these little moments.

Elvin's Birthday Invites

So I put together Elvin's birthday invites the other day. Here is what they look like. I kept it pretty simple which was made even easier when I found these Frankenstein blank cards at Joann's on sale. Then I got a few stamps to dress it up a bit and designed the inside portion. I love how they turned out. And Elvin was so excited when he saw them!! And he is totally planning most of his own party. He has decided what he wants to eat, play, who he wants there, and he is the one that wanted a Halloween Birthday party where everyone comes in their costumes... and he told me "But don't forget about the presents mom." He is so cute!! :) And to Kara- yes I am sorry. I did hand write the names on the envelope! ;)

Everyone is always asking me what John is doing for his thesis for his Masters in Chemical Engineering (for those that did not know that that is what he is studying). And I always say the same thing. "Something with oscillating flow." Now if that makes sense to you, well Kudos. But that is about the only big words I know that explains what he is doing. The other words I have no idea what they are or mean let alone know how to spell. Well, John recently asked me to take some pictures of... uh.. whatever this is so that he could put it into his presentation. I used to get upset because John would never really tell me about his day. Until one time he did... now I don't really ask him any more. :) I think when he noticed the complete glazed look in my eyes, his response "well, let's see, how can I dumb this down".....yaaah. I just don't ask about what all he did that day any more. We are all much happier this way. ;) Anyways, here are the pics.

So I have really been in a design mood lately. If you have not been able to tell by my new makeover here on this blog, or HERE on my craft blog, or HERE on my photography blog, or even HERE on my friend Melissa's blog, or HERE on another friends business blog. Its been my creative outlet lately... and I still have the bug. So I was going to ask all of you if you wanted a new blog designed for you. If you just want a makeover, or header, or whatever. Just leave a comment on this post. Now I am not saying that I will be able to do everyone's blog that leaves a comment. But I will try.... If I like you. ;) I would also like to add a screen shot of your newly made over blog in my designing portfolio on my photography blog if that is ok with you. If not I can still do a makeover, you just might get moved to the bottom of the pile. muahahahaha!! So again, just leave me a comment and let me know. Thanks guys! New project idea...

So this post is mainly for my Moscow friends. I have had in mind a craft idea that I want to do. No pictures that I can show you because.... DUH I have not done it yet. I came up with this idea when I was talking with a friend about the Pledge of Allegiance and how I loved that Elvin learned it last year from our joy school group. I think it is REALLY sad that our kids are going to grow up not really knowing it because it is not said in the schools anymore. (Which was a big sign to me of how our country is deteriorating, but that's a subject for another day) Anyways, afterwards I started thinking how it falls on us, the parents, to teach our kids a love and respect for our country and its foundations, under GOD by the way, ;) So my idea is this. It's going to be a long board that I will antique with paint, and it will have the Pledge of Allegiance sort of in a subway art type of words. It will be displayed vertically, if that makes sense. Words written in blue paint (not vinyl because I am going for a different look), antiqued brown red paint for the main board. Not sure if you can visualize it from my description. But think old patriotic. This sort of "feel" or style as the picture below. Make sense?? Anyways, let me know if you want to do it with me. I want to start very soon, so hurry.

So I just did this wreath and I am loving it. Take a look.

I just love knocking on my own door now. ;) On another note, John and I celebrated our 5 year anniversary last week. John was so much more on the ball than me.... me, well.... I dropped it, kicked it, it was hit by a bus and eaten by a dog.... ;)

First off he let me sleep in a little, and then I woke up to breakfast in bed, with a rose and a note on the tray. Then as I went around the house there was other roses with notes on them as well. Like on our key hanging thingy....

After retrieving the last one that was tied to my steering wheel, there was 3 dozen roses. Am I the luckiest in the world or what. I sure love my husband. He is the perfect one for me. Yes, I know this is a sappy post. If you don't like it... well, to bad. Thanks John for a memorable anniversary. I will do better next year! P.S. John took all the pictures of the roses except this last one. Just sayin... :)

So I have been super busy processing a few photo shoots trying to get them done. But sometimes I need a break when my photo creative juice is drying up. And today I stumbled upon a color palette that spoke to me. ;) Anyways I had this idea... take a look and tell me what you think. I have no idea why I thought of this theme as my boys are still young. But I had the idea and went with it. Well, just keep in mind this is a work in progress. So my friend Missy found this blog where THIS lady had made colored figures available for download. The stories were not printable so I went to the original sites (from the LDS church's site for the Friend magazine) and spent a long time copying and pasting so that I could have the stories that go with it. Then there is THIS site that gives you the tutorial on how to create your own felt figures using felt and iron on t-shirt transfers! WAY cheaper than buying the figures from another site already made. I cannot tell you all how excited I was that my friend Missy had found these. I have been looking for something like this FOREVER! Anyways, I made it easier for all of you to download them and print them. Just go to THIS site for the tutorial on how to make them into your fabulous new felt figures. So I have been playing around and learning how to design my own scrapbooking kits. And this is my first one that I came up with.

So my question is this: If I did more kits and made them downloadable here (or on my photography blog) for free, would anyone want them?? Would you download them? I want to see how much interest there would be in them before I go to the effort of making them. I love doing it and I do it for myself already. So leave me a comment and let me know your thoughts. I know you all are sick of reading, and hearing, and seeing (well hopefully not seeing) posts of my Project 365. But after doing it for a month now, I think what works best is just posting them to my business Facebook account. If you are not a fan yet, just click on the "Like" button in the right side bar in my Facebook badge. SOooo, I am back to my regular scheduled Family Circle blog here. Thanks everyone for your love and support-and PATIENCE! :) And just as a treat for you all here are some REALLY cute videos that I did this past week of my boys.

And in this next one you can see my little own Superman. In some of the other videos I took, Elvin would keep starting out with "Batman" and then switching to Superman when he remembered which cape he had on. So cute! Camden was Batman that day, but I could not get him to come out and show me his own super powers. What was also funny is BOTH boys wanted their shirts off before I put on their capes. Hilarious!! I guess they wanted to show their...uh...buffness?? lol

Worst nightmare or funniest moment??

John was gone for the career fair tonight and so it was just me and the boys. Needless to say making a grandiose dinner for just me and the munch kins was not at the top of my priority list, especially when one of those said munch kins hardly ever eats dinner. So I let the picky eater himself choose dinner with the hopes that he would eat well. And, surprise surprise, he chose pastaroni. It is probably his favorite thing to eat next to nuggets. Anyways, when he was on his third bowl, YEP HIS THIRD BOWL! You read that correctly! I was praising him for being such a good eater as we always try to be over the top happy when he eats well. I was telling him how he was going to grow so big and strong because he was eating so well. His reply was this:

"Yep! I AM growing so big and strong. And when I grow SUPER big and strong then I can use mamas sewing machine, and her camera, and her computer, AND her car!"

Ahhhhh! When did my little man get so smart?? I will be posting a video tomorrow of all his cuteness (and such humility). Just you wait and see. :) Stay tuned!

I was trying to get him to look at me, but I am afraid Backyardigans won THAT contest! Every night when he goes to bed, he has to have his menagerie of stuffed animals. All but one are dogs! Dog blanket, doggie pillow, barking doggie, walking doggie, mini doggie, and last but not least... Tigger! What can I say?? He loves dogs. I am looking forward to the day when we can get him a real one. Now THAT face is going to be classic.

I do not know why but these are my favorite things that we got for the boys. Elvin got Buzz and as you can see, Woody belongs to Camden. And the boys love them too! I wondered how much they would be into them. But I just think that they are the coolest. I keep turning around REALLY fast hoping to catch them moving... no such luck yet. ;) And looking at this picture, the song runs through my head "Hay un amigo en mi...Hay un amigo en mi!"

I love these cookies.... Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies. Not only are they one of the few cookies that I can make and have it LOOK pretty and TASTE fabulous.... but it has oatmeal. Which totally makes it healthy for you! ;) Elvin loves to help me cook. Unfortunately he always wants to make cookies. I do not think I have to look very far to see why I have not lose that pregnancy weight.

Why does it seem like nothing goes right? Why do I just keep telling myself "why can't we just catch a break?" Lately with this, that, and the other it seems like everything has been snowballing down hill. I keep asking myself what else we need to be doing... So am I the only one? Or does anyone else ever feel like this? And if so, what do you do that helps?

Totally random... but I need help!

So this is totally random and some of you may not care. But I have been plagued with which direction to take with this problem and my poor OCD soul is divided and unable to decide.... which means its plainly buggin' me. :)What should be a small mole hill has turned into a Kilimanjaro! for me So here is the problem/dilemma/whatever:

I want to do a project 365, which is a picture a day for a year. Like this lovely lady, or this awesome guy Basically a photo journal. I have been wanting to do this and have started to many times. I first thought of doing it with like Shutterfly/Becky Higgins and other sites like that and print a book-EXPENSIVE. I also tried to print them off on my own with my handy dandy photo printer and just doing like a mini scrapbook-again Expensive and time consuming to try and do each day. So I thought I would just do it on my Photography blog as a daily entry. OR I could start another blog specific for this, OR just do it here on the family blog. So what all is YOUR opinions. You may not care, but again it is bothering my overly organised OCD self. I want to do this for many reasons. Namely to have a form of journal, as we all know that is important. So tell me what all are your thoughts?? Would you want to see them here, a different blog, or on my photography blog? Or would you really not want to see them at all and think I am totally wasting your time asking stupid questions...

25 Days of Christmas for HIM!

I got this idea from another blog and I loved the idea. I am doing the 25 days of Christmas for John. Each day he gets to turn around another one (I had to make him promise not to cheat!) Some just say something that I love about him, some are a service or something that I will do that day for him, and others are where I am giving him something (like a small gift). I liked this idea for many reasons. John is super hard to shop for, and he usually knows what I am getting him for Christmas. So this was something that helped us to draw closer together. And it looks really cute on my wall! I am not going to lie people. :) No, but seriously, I love this. I think it will become another tradition to do each year.

Don't mind Elvin, he sure was not bothered. He was making me "something" to eat and could not be bothered. :)

I lucked out and found an Advent Calendar Kit from Joannes and I just used the elements from that kit with some scrapbook paper that I have. Super easy and inexpensive!

Me and a neighbor of mine wanted to get a few family pictures that help to capture how beautiful it is here with the fall colors out. So last night we decided we would take some last minute family pictures. This morning, we loaded everyone up and headed out! These were some of our family favorites. One of these will be our Christmas card this year... so act surprised when you receive yours. :) And look-there I am! I am usually the one behind the lens. :)

I gotta just say it! I have the cutest boys in the world! How can you resist these faces! :)

Elvin's 3rd Birthday!

John took Elvin to his first movie. They went and saw Alpha and Omega which Elvin LOVED! John....not so much. But it was so fun to see how excited Elvin was. I get to take him to the next one. :)

We had a Car Cupcake Cake. He loved it. There was a boy there at the park that said "Wow. That looks so cool. I wish my mom would do something like that for me." It melted my heart. And of course... I gave him a cupcake. :)

He had a little accident on the way to the park... poor guy.

The spoiler was up on some kitkats, but they broke on the way to the park. Also, there was supposed to be a few more chocolate pieces. But it was really humid and we were in a hurry.

Elvin got this cool vacuum which he uses all the time. He also got a cool dog from his buddy Anna, some stickers, Thomas Trains, crayons, an airplane gun, silly string, and a train track set. All in all he is LOVING everything and trying to keep Camden from it all. Thank you so much everyone.

Day 1 Project Life

Camden has recently discovered these drawers in the kitchen. The only real surprise is that is has taken him this long.

The poor kid got into two fights... and lost. One with a balloon that was blown up too much and he received his first black eye. (thanks Daddy) Then he lost the other fight with Elvin and Elvin pushed him into a toy outside. But don't you worry. Camden is a tough guy. And he got even by sitting on Elvin's leg in the bathtub tonight. (Imagine an elephant sitting on an ant)

Oh the silence that these bring is so sweet and peaceful. The boys love them!

John has been working a LOT this week. And today, it was one of those days. Yep, its still 11am and my kids are not dressed. Yep, they are playing outside in their PJ's. Guess what folks, they were happy. And lets face it, it will probably happen again tomorrow.

Elvin did not want to be photographed today. But I got his legs! :)

I have updated my Whetten Photography & Design Blog. Go on over and check out its face lift! I added new pages that correspond with the event. Little by little folks, I am getting the hang of blogging. :) I have also added the Bingham's and Guzman's family photo shoots. Yay!

Project Life

I found this thing called Project Life. I love this idea. Although it is basically just another scrapbook at heart, this particular one is centered upon doing a week at a glance or month at a glance book. Really, its kind of like a journal. And me, being a horrible journal keeper (meaning I don't really keep one) I really liked this. I would do the digital version, but you get the idea. For a number of reasons I really want to do this.

1. To have a journal. We all know that its important and why. I don't think I really need to go into all the nuts and bolts of why.

2. It would help to inspire me to get out my camera more and practice my skills between photo shoots.

3. I like the idea of making it a "reasons to be happy and grateful". And taking a picture a day, or two a week, focusing on things that would fit into the aforementioned category. For example, something that the kids did, a frame, a special flower (the big pile of wilted dandelions that Elvin brings me in droves), but you get the idea. This could even be a separate book from the personal journal one.

4. It is already layed out. I already scrapbook. I make my own pages and it takes time. As this Project Life would be more journal oriented, I want to spend my time on the other things besides the layout and design aspect.

So there you go. There are a lot of other reasons, but these are the main ones. I also was inspired by THIS GIRL, Cierra Owens. She is a girl I just recently got to know a little better and she is a photographer too! She is doing something she calls "Project 365" and she takes a picture each day. I love this idea! But check her out.

Elvin's Tonsillectomy

He is doing pretty good. All things considered. He is a little trooper though. I have found that it is easiest when we distract him from the pain.

This was that night. We ended up having to stay the night. So Elvin got his new surprise toy early. He was trying to be excited about it, but he was so out of it.

This was after. My poor boy. He did pretty good though waking up from the anesthesia.

You can kind of see. Sorry. It was hard to get a good view.

This was just before they took him back.

Camden 11 Months

Camden loves to swing.

And unlike his older brother, he LOVES to eat.

And last but not least, he is walking. I cannot believe it. I guess he just wanted to keep up with Elvin. They are playing more and more together. And Elvin still likes to bully him. We are just waiting for the day when Camden will get even by sitting on him. :)

Aunt Leslie comes to town
